1. The First Place winner of the national-wide competition will be given reimbursement for their round trip flight tickets and be provided with accommodation for free during the competition.

2. The Second Place winner and the Third Place winner of the national-wide competition will be given reimbursement for their single trip flight ticket and be provided with accommodation for free during the competition.

3. Accommodation will be provided for free to all overseas competitors, one team leader and one jury during the competition.

Ⅴ. Sponsorship

Support and sponsorship from welding equipment and materials manufacturers are welcome.

To encourage sponsorship for the foreign teams, advertising and propaganda services for free will be provided by the Organizing Committee to the sponsors.

1. Team prizes: Gold, silver and bronze team prizes will be set, and trophy and certificate will be issued.

2. Individual prizes: individual Gold, silver and bronze prizes will be set, and bonus (or award) and certificate will be issued.

3. Young Welder Prizes: individual Gold, silver and bronze prizes for single process will be set, and medal, award and certificate will be issued.

4. Student Prizes: individual Gold, silver and bronze prizes for single process will be set, and medal, award and certificate will be issued.

5. Individuals with excellent achievements for single process from central enterprises will be entitled “China’s Central Enterprises Technical Expert” and “China’s Central Enterprises Young Technical Expert” by SASAC of the State Council.

6. Special Prizes

Special prizes including “The Best Performance”, “The Best Works” will be set, and medal and certificate will be issued.

7. Performance Prizes

Performance Prizes will be set accordingly, and certificates will be issued.

8. Excellent Welder Prizes

Several “Excellent Welder Prizes” will be set and all competitors have the equal chance to win the prize.

9. The total value of awards will be up to 200,000 RMB.

To boost the exchange and cooperation of international technology, improve the welding skill, and speed up the cultivation of international welding technicians and engineers, 2016 (4^th) Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition is going to be held in Beijing, China in June of 2016. The Organizing Committee sincerely welcomes all who are engaged in the welding industry throughout the world. Welding organizations and enterprises are warmly welcome to the Competition with the competent welders, welding robot programmers and operators.

After three successful terms, the “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition has become a platform for international welding technology and skill exchange. The competition has greatly pushed the development of welding skills in the participating countries forward, obtained sound international reputation and made contribution to the quick development of international welding industry.

In May, 2010, Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. successfully held the first Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition in Beijing, which was hosted by State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission of the State Council of P.R. of China (SASAC), co-organized by Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society(CMES) and Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. During the competition, 55 players from Germany, USA, South Korea, Czech Republic and China competed with each other on the four welding processes --- Gas Metal Arc Welding (135/GMAW), Gas Tungsten-Arc Welding (141/GTAW), Shielded Metal Arc Welding (111/SMAW) and Oxygen Fuel Gas Welding (311/OFW).

In June of 2012, the second Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition was an important and excellent international welding event. 70 players from Ukraine, Slovakia, Bulgaria, Belarus, South Korea, Germany and 11 China’s central enterprises took part in the competition. International standards were adopted for the processes setting, competition and scoring, and the robot welding was set for the first time. The competition gained high praise from industries.

In June of 2014, 288 excellent players from 12 overseas countries including Austria, Belarus, Bulgaria, Czech Republic, Germany, Indonesia, Korea, Mongolia, Romania, Singapore, UK and Ukraine and 27 China’s central enterprises as well as 6 China’s vocational schools took park in the Third Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition and competed in the welding processes --- Robot Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding (111/SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (135/GMAW), Gas Tungsten-Arc Welding (141/GTAW), Oxygen Fuel Gas Welding (311/OFW), Finished Product Welding (111SMAW/135GMAW/141GTAW/136FCAW) and Welding Performance. The 2014 (3rd) Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition has become the welding competition with the biggest scale and most completed welding processes till now.

To ensure transparency and fairness, the 2016 (4th) Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition will be held according to the rules and standards decided by the Organizing Committee after the full discussion of all member countries.

In June, 2014, the Organizing Committee of “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition (OC ARCIWC) was founded after signing the Memorandum of Understanding of Organizing Committee of “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition by the representatives of the participating countries in the meeting held during the Third Beijing “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition. The Organizing Committee of “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition was founded by American Welding Society (AWS), Belorussian Welding Society (BWS), Bulgarian Welding Society (BWS), Germany GSI SLV, International Welding & Surfacing Association (IWSA), Korea Welding Industry Cooperative (KWIC), Mongolian Material Science & Welding Society (MMSWS), Shipbuilding Institute of Polytechnic Surabaya ? Indonesia (SHIPS), Singapore Welding Society (SWS), Ukrainian Welding Society (UWS) and supported by Asian Welding Federation(AWF).

International Welding & Surfacing Association (IWSA), registered in Hong Kong, is elected to be the Secretary Unit of the OC ARCIWC, and IWSA provides financial support for the OC ARCIWC and an office for the Secretariat.

The Organizing Committee of “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition is a non-profit organization and aims at:

1. Improving technical skills of international welders and operators;

2. Carrying out the “Arc Cup” International Welding Competition with openness, fairness and justice through making unified competition standards and rules ;

3. Enhancing exchanges and cooperation among welding enterprises;

4. Building a bridge between vocational schools and welding enterprises for welding talents.
