On 14th, April, 2015, the 19th "Gold Cup LINDE" international welding competition was officially held in Frýdek-Místek. Dr. Liu Zhenying, the deputy secretary of Beijing "ARC Cup" international welding competition committee, president of Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology led Chinese delegation to attend the competition in Czech Republic. Members of the delegation mainly came from Guanxi Technological College Machinery and Electricity, Guangxi Petrochemical Advanced Technical School and Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd. The competition specified four welding methods, including shielded metal arc welding (111/SMAW), gas metal arc welding (135/GMAW), argon tungsten-arc welding (141/GTAW) and oxyacetylene flame welding (311/OFW). Each contestant of each team can only attend the competition with one method. The authorized ANB Czech Welding Joint Association was responsible for the technical supervision of the competition.

“Gold Cup LINDE ” international welding competition started to held in 1997 and has successfully held 19 sessions until 2015. Supported by the Ministry of Education of Czech Republic, and organized by the Secondary School of Frýdek-Místek, the Competition is an influential event in the international welding industry. This “Gold Cup LINDE” international welding competition attracted 124 contestants from 7 Countries of Czech Republic, Slovakia, China, Germany, Ukraine, The Republic of Belarus, Poland. The age of these contestants are below 20. With inadequate experience, it's great to win such a good achievement by only several operating training. Thereinto, Lu Longzeng from Guangxi Petrochemical Advanced Technical School took the crown on oxyacetylene flame welding which was a turnaround for Chinese team, since this competition is the traditional strength of European Countries and Chinese team had nothing triumphs before. Referees from abroad were impressed by the excellent welding techniques. Chief referee of the competition said, “We are not at the same level with Chinese team.”
Although there are obstacles on language, differences between welding equipment and standards as well as jetlag, relying on strong psychological quality and technology, Chinese contestants made great effort to still get the group championship, championship on three single items, second place on two single items respectively, and impressed foreign peers. Among these contestants, Chen Guogan from Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd won championship when competing with 51 contestants on gas metal arc welding; Ran Yili and Lu Longzeng from Guangxi Petrochemical Advanced Technical School also won championship on argon tungsten-arc welding and oxyacetylene flame welding respectively. Wei Zhongkai and Tan Zhengkui from Guanxi Technological College Machinery and Electricity took the second place on shielded metal arc welding and gas metal arc welding respectively.
The excellent performance of this competition is inseparable from emphasis of each participating units on high talents cultivation and organization of Beijing ARC Xinxing Science & Technology Co., Ltd. Before attending the competition, the selected 5 contestants has been trained by professional teachers for more than one month in Guanxi Technological College Machinery and Electricity (China Welding Association Robot Welding (Nanning) Training Base). At the same time, excellent achievements are also not inseparable from the self endeavor of the contestants and careful teaching of coaches, for example, coach of Chen Jingyi from Jiangnan Shipyard (Group) Co., Ltd spent a lot of spare time to train Chen Guogan after finishing his own jobs; while coach of Long Changmao from Guanxi Technological College Machinery and Electricity and coach of Sun Hujie from Guangxi Petrochemical Advanced Technical School were also actively mentoring the contestants in their school without any complaint. In addition, Dai Jianshu, the Chinese referee held fast to his position and executed competition rules fairly and justly together with referees from other Countries to ensure the smooth going on of the competition. Besides, the team leader of Zhuo Yongshun from Guangxi Petrochemical Advanced Technical School coordinated all details before and after competition, giving his hard work.

During the competition, the Chinese delegation visited the historic Prague, wandering this “City of the Thousand Minarets”,feeling the different construction style and culture. The breeze from the Vltava River gently eased the tension during the competition for contestants and congratulated the good performance of Chinese contestants.
After the competition, the Chinese delegation went back to China via Warsaw, Poland. During the brief stay of Warsaw, the Chinese delegation visited the Warsaw's old town, Castle Square, Zygmunt III's column, the square of the old town, Warsaw mermaid, the Warsaw uprising monument and Ghetto and other places of interest, which let the delegation linger over.
On 19th April, after over ten-hour flight of long journey, the Chinese delegation arrived in Beijing peacefully. Leaded by Doc. Liu Zhenying, the 2015 “Arc Cup” International Exchange of Welding Technology to the Czech Republic successfully concluded. Chinese delegation returned from the Czech Republic with honor. By then, The Czech Republic is the first trip of the 2015 “Arc Cup” International Exchange of Welding Technology, whose triumph is the successful sign of the following exchange activities.
